Wing box structure

OVERVIEW

In this design project, I worked with two other students to build and optimize an internal wing structure to a specification.

From this project, I learned about the Box Beam Analysis method, as well as structure idealization in general. The expected failure load was only 5% off from the actual failure load, which is an insignificant error given the approximations used.

The analysis was also documented using Excel, with separate tabs for easy tracing in the future.
